An alien is, according to dictionary.com “a resident born in or belonging to another country who has not acquired citizenship by naturalization (distinguished from citizen).” “A foreigner.” “A person who has been estranged or excluded.”

When you are an alien:

• Aliens pay “foreign student tuition” which is exorbitantly and higher than that of a resident / citizen.
• Aliens do not find jobs so easily or earn a comfortable livelihood because of their status.
• Aliens cannot vote (participate in decision makings that affect their lives).
• Aliens are under travel and other restrictions.
• An alien feels estranged or excluded.

These and many other inconveniences are facts of life for aliens in various countries.

I pray for you today that you will not remain an alien in Jesus name, for God is able to make all things possible for you.

Now that you know what it feels to be an alien in a country and how desperately everyone seeks for ways to become qualified for naturalization in these earthly countries, I’d like to have you apply the same principle to what it feels like to be an alien in the kingdom of God. The truth is that anyone who does not accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal Savior is an alien in the kingdom of God. The bible says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” – John 3:16-18 

Although aliens / strangers are to be loved (Deuteronomy 10:19) and have sunshine, water, etc. just as residents / citizens, we all know that many privileges enjoyed by citizens are not available to aliens. If you have not accepted Jesus, you are still like an alien who is not enjoying the ultimate privilege of kingdom ownership. But you can become a naturalized citizen of God’s kingdom today and your life will become different. The bible says, once we “were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.” – Ephesians 2:12-13

Citizens are treated differently because they are considered owners / stake holders of the land, but aliens find it tough to get a piece of the pie.

Dear Reader, there is a whole pie of goodness, mercy and refreshment that God’s holy people are enjoying; the only way you too can start enjoying it too is if you become naturalized into the kingdom of God – by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord. Once you accept Jesus, your status has changed.

Advantages of changing your status from being aliens to becoming God’s holy people:

• You join the group of those who get their sins (debts) forgiven – Deuteronomy 15:1-3
• You join the group of disciplined people who no longer live lose lives– Deuteronomy 14: 21-22.
• You will do things differently because you are special; rules for holiness will begin to apply to you just as in homes, clubs, countries, etc.,  – Deuteronomy 14:1-2 Of course you won’t be expected to follow any rules if you are not a member, because you are not special to that particular organization. Therefore when you accept Christ, God’s rules for holiness apply to you because you are special.
• You will become hopeful and drawn near to God – Ephesians 2:11-13
• You begin to enjoy access to the peace of God, through Christ Jesus who removes the wall of separation – Ephesians 2:14-18. You will no longer look over your shoulder in fear.

Advice:

Accept Jesus now and become a partaker of what God’s children enjoy. His peace, righteousness, and joy in the Holy Ghost will become your daily experience.
